Hey guys. I'm trying to create is a ramdomly build world using the DB matrix commands. What I can't seem to do is have defined textures for different heights on the matrix. say mountain tops a ice texture and medium heights a grass texture and so on...
I didn't want to post what code I have because I took out all my attemps to make this work out of the project but it basicly was

height#=RND(40)
if height#<5 then FILL MATRIX 100, height#, 1

I'm very greatful for any help, thanks guys

Unfortunately, it doesn't work anything like that.

And what's more, that technique won't look too good because the tile textures will make it look blocky.

If you want to use the standard matrix texturing method though, read tutorial 9 here:

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=99497&b=10

When you've got the hang of multiple texture images you can have a bash the 'better' way. This involves texturing the matrix with a single image which you create on a hidden bitmap - based on the heights of the matrix.

I can help you with that, but it's pretty much essential that you understand the basics of texturing matrices first.

That tutorial will help you with that...

NP!

BTW - I've been cleaning up my web site and had removed the images that went with that tutorial. Just put them back, so if you read references to image that weren't there, they are now!

Just reload the page...
