I'm going to take a look at the code for you...

(edit)

The sprites are all disappearing for me, no overlapping on my end and I didn't change a single thing from your snippet before compiling.

They may be differences in what your code does for other people compared to what it does for you, due to differences in updates you have all installed.

If you post code, it's useful to say what update version of Pro you are using.

As for your sprite problem, at the end of a level, try setting the screen positions of all your sprites off screen by positioning them at -100,-100.

Oh I missed the part about when you die you press enter... Hmm... Looks like a hall of mirrors effect to me. Basically not refreshing the background. Should be a simple fix, let me look.

(edit)
Yup, was an easy fix

At the top of your code, change it to look like this

Ok, well, HOM happens when there's nothing behind something for the system to draw. So it draws the location of something in one place and then when it moves on the screen, it never bothers drawing over where it just was, leaving it in place.

The funny part is there doesn't seem to be any reason for it to occur on your game because you're not turning the backdrop off anywhere. But theory doesn't matter as much as what actually happens.

There's more information on how it works at wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hall_of_mirrors_effect

The latest version of anything doesn't necessarily mean it's better. Updates always include new code. New code can introduce new bugs. Some people wait before upgrading or simply refuse to upgrade if there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with what they have. The old adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"
