Heres the skinny, cuz it's late.

How annoying is it that decals only play over and over in a loop, like how often do sparks just poor out over and over, or flames looping in the same spot over and over... it suck and makes the decals look budget. So I scripted up a new system that makes the decals more randomised and realistic. I can really show it in screenies, but here's a vid. Anyone be interested in LyteFX V2 using these new effects? could have..

Lightning
Strobes
Rain drops (propperly random)
sparks
fire
heat haze..

Anyway, check the vid. Notice how the sparks dont all flicker at the same time, or play for the same amount of time? cool huh?

Butters, I don't own Version 1, but i've had my eye on it for awhile. This definitly looks pretty sweet tho.

My vote would be to make Version 2.

Butters, I tried to email this to you but it bounced. Is v2 a separate project than v1, that will have to be purchased by all? Or is v2 going to be an upgrade to v1 that won't have to be purchased by v1 owners?

Peace, mk83

Butters, please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this random display of decals more to do with scripting than the actual decals?
If what I think is true, then you could just update your earlier pack with the scripts required to make those decals non-repetitive.

I don't think it is as simple as rewriting a script. The decals have to be redone as well.
Butters isn't worried about making money off of this.If he were trying to make money there are better ways to do it.
What little he does make off of this is probably used to offset the costs of making this...time,money spent on resources, etc.
He has given us enough free stuff and will probably continue to do so from time to time.
So we should give him our support by purchasing his media if we want/need it.
BTW Butters,
I know this is a little off topic but how is the ruined city pack thing coming along?

True, true, but I'd like to do some new things with these effects, as light effects only included...lights. I'd like to do new decals for stuff like fire, water and so on...

How much do you reckon it will cost??

Because I am very short on money at the moment and I need to make a plan of what to spend it on.

Thanks.

E.D.

P.S. See you all in a week, holiday time for me

Oh and Maxxgames Butters said he'd e-mail me a tutorial about that (for my fridge), so he might forward it to you aswell. If you ask nicely .
