Well, I finally got my laptop up and running! So I installed the HASP4 divers that came on the CD, and popped in the dongle. It is now pleasently humming and the red light is glowing, but DBPro still requests a CD!!!! Ahhhhh! Any ideas?

Are you using the special version of the DBP compiler that came with the dongle?

Yeah, like I said, I installed the drivers first.

... but there is a special DBP dbpassist.exe or something on the CD as well, or another installer is there not. You have just installed the drivers for the device.

i think you have to actually install the DBpro that comes on the CD not just the Drivers - because i think it might be using a different key. (so that people can't just nick the dongles and go home and use them to unlock the demo or something daft)

Well, I installed the DBPro on the CD, and now when I try to compile it, it won't request a CD, but the progress won't even go up thus, it won't compile.

try fully uninstalling, the reinstalling ... make sure it works properly before installing any patchs too.

And make sure that DBP isn't running while you do all that. Otherwise...*shudders*...

Yeah, all sound advice. Remove DBPro totally. Install the HASP drivers. Plug in the dongle, let it all initialise. Then install the DBPro you were sent with the dongle (not the previous version) and it'll work. Patch accordingly.

Rich

lmao... no you could probably misinterpret Rick as Rich, but then Rich probably uses Richard in his siggy
not sure how you could confuse thier last names, i know Rick's signature is a little messy but you can still make out the letters

Hmm, I tried totally removing and reinstalling DBPro, yet it still doesn't work. It just stalls out on the compilation part.
