I have made a 3d model of a desert eagle .50 and I am now trying to uv map it, but the problem is that I have got so many faces for each section of the gun (eg on the handle)that when I try to uv map the texture to the gun, its hard to coordinate how I am going to uv map it.

My question is, does any one know if there is any way that I can reduce the number of faces I have or if I can blend some of the vertices together so that I can make 1 face per section.

Thanks in advance!

Moving this to the 3D Chat forum.
Also,posting more information would allow others to give you better assistance.

To blend vertices together:

a. Select the vertices that you want to merge;
b. press W;
c. click on "Merge";
d. choose.

Blender has a nice polygon reducer in the scripts section, but avoid using it.
