Posted in the newbies section for a "sun lighting effect" but no joy. Have searched for any post about such a thing including lens flare but no joy.

So has anyone got an example of a lens flare effect that I may use on my "sun" or just how to get a light source that simulates the sun?

I just make a plain and texture it with a flare I made in Photoshop (lens flares are the key ). Then I just set object to camera orientation so that the sun always faces the camera. Just postion a light to match and bingo, instant sun.

I actually wrote a tutorial for Rich that's been accepted, I don't know when he'll put it up or if I can send it to you so just wait a couple days and I'll find out.

Aye... it's best performed using the 'object screen x' and 'object screen y' to find the sun's position, IMHO...
