i've started work on a 3d models pack called the futuristic siege pack. it is going to be very much based on medieval things that have been modernized or redesigned.
the first model in the pack is the laser gun.

Looks pretty good, some areas look too high poly though, like the tip of the gun and the two cylinders on top of the base.

yes, i know what you mean, although it is only 701 polys so i think i will leave it as it is.
does anyone have any suggestions for other items?
i'm working on a futuristic jousting thing with hovercraft.

basically a background 3d feature that compliments the games overall look. Think of it also where the judges sit to watch the game as well as the fans, above them is a big tower that transmits the start and finish of the game per say.
