So heres a vid of some more stuff Im trying out in Contrast.

First we have, Huge backdrops, used to add an actual 3D skyline. The one in the vid was a quick tester I threw together in an evening, but I think the concept is pretty cool. especially if it were animated.

Second we got destroyable scenery (in the video its a door), but rather than just playing a decal or whatever, FPSC style, it actually shows damage after the first shot, and breaks open on the second..

Finally, we got the dual wield. I have 2 techniques for doing this, although the other technique is less effective, I think I may be onto how to make a flame thrower for enemies... anyway, for now we got this. I appologise that Fraps kills my FPS, so it misses the flashes on about half the guys shot, but there we go.

If you guys could give me some feedback on each of the 3 that'd be great.

Muchos thanks

Butters

1.It runs so smooth in that large area full of entitys you did a good job making it look like it was and entity and all.

2.ok shooting down door iv been trying to do that forever and you did it better than i expected ps. i like th body in the locker

3.Wow how did u manage that you can clearly see that he is using to guns because of the i forgot what its called the flashes coming from the front you can see he is using 2 because that going on did u script this or animate it?

To hard to tell with all the black and white on the environment.

Doors pretty good, and looks like the same technique S4 and I use for breaking boards. Damage spawns new entity once destroyed?

Dual wield looks good on a adversary.

Good job

I always wondered if it was possible to open doors Black style..

Butters, I recomend you release a guide to FPSC..all the secret stuff..I'd defiently buy it/download it.

The open spaces...I don't get it? The building(s) in the background is 3D?

The door thing is freakin' sweet man. I love it. (The body in the locker thing is sick bro..)

Does both weapons affect you though?

Good work.

big..hahaha..you said big!

Nice work butters. As much as I would have loved to see you continue with FOTF, I guess Contrast looks to be as good (if not better) than FOTF.

You can only post FPSC games on this board, sorry . Seriously though, that video was amazing! I can hardly tell it was made in FPSC. Well done.

Nah Loc I tried that, but I found it was more effective (and memory friendly) to have the door with 3 different animations. normal, damaged and blown open. Theres just a nifty script to control when it changes. I can't quite remember, but I seem to think I had some major problems with collision when I did it the spawn way too...

LOL!! Sorry man, I'll get back in the box

Hmmm. I was thinking of opening a Dojo! I don't know man. My FPSC folder is a total heap. It would take a very long time to explain how to do some of this stuff, and the guide would have to work on the pre-requisite that you had a whole bunch of programs. We'll see.

Thanks man. I'm loving that effect and was so pleased when I sussed it out. I'm gonna have lots of things in the game that can be destroyed like this, and some secrets that can only be onlocked by doing stuff like this. Oh and the body in th locker....well I figured once I had the lockers there HAD to be a dead guy in one of them.. he's actually the guy you were supposed to be meeting at the plant...looks like things aren't going to go to plan..

Thanks! Thats the style I was hoping for!

Please keep the comments coming! Oh I didn't really ask, but what did you think of finding the shotgun in the locker? Theres gonna be quite a lot of searching around in lockers and stuff...

first off i love the look of your games you have a unique style of your own.that is a nice thing to see,its not the same old .

the door effect rocks.who wants to open a door the normal way when you can shoot it

the dual wield looks good, nice work .

the Huge backdrops look good to .what is the odds of adding a blinking light in a window or 2 to give it a little more depth .

i don't know why but i keep feeling like marlen brando is going to pop out in your game somewhere .

I have also played around with 3D backdrops, and I think it has the potential for some great results.

The destroyable doors are amazing! I would love to be able to use that in a future game. Nice work!
