Hi guys. I have been in the showcase forum and see people designing wonderful games. The best thing i like about is the shadow the objects creats. Now i tried it by making the ambience level low but it still aint that good and sometime sunusual. So... if anybody could help me and the community by providing with a tutorial with video or pictures that would be so great.

I learnt a lot, so i changed my name.

Uhm a tutorial.....

Okey i am not the best in lighting but.

But it doesnt hurt to say a few things about adjust the lighting in the "right" way.

Well here is what i do:

First like the usual you make your room,

Put entities in it not just random but so it fits in that room,

You test play...and test every single corner of that room,

(Dont make the whole level and than test it just start with one
room and than maybe a few hallways and another room and etc etc)

While you are testing (without lighting) you need to find some places where you will think it would cast a great shadow,

Than you go back to edit the room and place some lightings where you thought it would fit perfect,

Test again............

If it doesnt fits that perfect what you think it should....
Than you edit the room again and try to focus what kind of color the lighting should have, and how far does that entity stands from the wall, and should the wall be smaller or larger,

Thats how i test my game...lighting....and placement.

I know i havent post any pictures in it but i thought just keep it simple...

Unless people want a tutorial with pictures maybe i can do it.

Anyway hope i helped.

That was great cheesecake, but pictures are the best and shortest way to describe something. So... yes i would like to see a tutorial with pictures. And please describe the range of light because that affects the shadows too and what range is recommended for indoor and what for outdoor.

I learnt a lot, so i changed my name.
