Thanks Fred. There's a lot of potential in the stock FPSC scifi entities and segments if you can just get past the garish colour schemes. Or better still, get rid of them LOL

No

No offense, but I plan on asking one or two specific forum members if they'd like to beta-test when the time comes.
BTW I should probably have mentioned this at the top of the thread, but red|MIST will be released as freeware. My aim is to produce a short but attractive game, with a lot of interaction packed into a relatively small space. If I'd tried to do a bigger commercial release I'd have been working on it for the rest of the year, and in all probability it would never have seen the light of day (I tend to get sidetracked rather easily).
So anyone who wants to will get the chance to play it eventually

I plan on using 'press ENTER to open' HUDs, so that shouldn't be an issue. However, you've reminded me that non-FPSC users might need telling about 'right-click to pick up' (unless this is very common in other FPS games - I haven't actually played many). Thinking about it, there's also keypad 'zero' to put your weapon away before picking something up. And right-click to zoom... Are these are standard functions that any hard core FPS player would use instinctively? I'm guessing that the key controls in FPSC were designed to mimic those of most popular FPS games?

Yeah, who the heck would manufacture an orange firearm? If you came across the stock autoslug stored in a locker you'd be forgiven for thinking it was an over-ambitious flare gun!
