*I waited on this for a while because as always someone with more IN's would probably have a plugin or update that can. So I won't say it is completely impossible, but from everything I have read....

LithUnwrap and MilkShape3D can export .MDLs or convert them into other formats, but without animation.

I tried searching more, and I found canges and updates to .mdl import for LithUnwrap, but nothing as of yet reagrding retention of .mdl animation.

Note:*
Now watch, the vultures around here will post that I am wrong soon as I post this. I held off for a few days, so I'll risk it in order to help you.

Your welcome Bass Guy 1669,

Didn't want to leave you without anything, and it looks like people haved been working on .mdl exporting with animations as early as 2001. Now it would be hard for me that no one has succeeded in nearly 6 years.

Look at this forum link.

specifically these posts

Michael Harris contacted Mete Ciragan from Chumbalum about making .mdl exporter for Milkshape. Mete promised to contact us when he get from vaccations.

Yeah I arrived at the sam conclusion a while ago.... I DID get slightly farther: I had some working animations in a model with a UV map but it took a very long time per animation frame and then some weird things started happening to the model ike a kneepad suddenly became all messed up and such...

So this leads me to believe that an export .mdl + animation for milkshape3d must exist. I'm still looking and can't believe I haven't found it yet. Unfortunately I haven't found as much positive clues in way of lithUnwrap. Most promising links turn out to be related to 3dmax, converting to .3DS, and other more expensive UV mappers. I also seem to get directed to gamespce or truespace links. So I imagine those programs have a working .mdl mapper and exporter maintaining animations properly.

What's the problem with GOOGLE lately??? Is it just me???I hate when I google something, and the keywords all show up, only to find that the link has nothing to do with what I'm looking for. It used to be able to advance search or use google operations to weed out the junk. But lately I get more crap then real meat. I think Google Ads has poisoned the search results[u]
