Depends what you're making, and what you are on about.
Scenes? A single character? Weapons?
Try and be specific..

Do you mean the limit in which it will not allow any more polygons? or the maximum limit to keep the game from lagging?

It wont be, only the speed will change on different machines. The polygon limit is set in DarkBASIC, and is way too high for anyone to even think about without having an average FPS of 0
