I know it's called First Person SHOOTER Creator, but please bear with me...

Has anyone tried creating something other than a shooter. Like perhaps a first person "Virtual Mall Shopping" sim? LOL! Can you provide me with a link of someone who's creation was thinking outside the box?

Sorry for the pathetic example, but my question is serious. I used RPG maker (the one for playstation), and made games completely outside the scope of what the product was intended to do. Mainly I created a lot of mini-games for others to use in their RPG's. like.

A fishing game.
A 3-Card-Monte game.
Simple Arcade games like snake, and a poor dig-dug like game.
Movie re-enactment shorts.
Simple strategy games like a basic minesweeper clone.

I don't have FPSC, but I was just wondering if the scripts would allow you to create an andventure that had NO shooting.

Depends on what you want.

FPSC creator is also FPC.
All you'd need to do to make an mall shopping or whatever game is just don't add guns.

Who will die first?

Thanks for the feedback.

I was mainly interested in seeing if I could use it to demo a children's game. My daughter loves the mall, and she would like me to make her a game, where she can retrieve items for people finding the best bargain, help locate a missing child, help catch a thief or purse snatcher. Stuff like that. I figured I could make a demo, to get her input in FPSC much faster than trying to code in DBpro from scratch.

I know the idea sounds silly. But that's the kind of game she would be interested in. She loves the sims, and perhaps It would be easier for me to create a mod, but she specifically wanted a First Person type game.

Easily possible, just don't add guns, as Person99 said.

Look at Rolfy's showcase topic "Eldora: A golden land". Now THAT'S thinking outside the box .

And yes, you could make the health variable a "money" variable, change the code so you don't die when you reach 0..... all that kind of thing .

Right. If it's not a shooter, you don't need health. Instead, make it points and when the player has enough points, they win the game.

There are a couple of "Other uses" threads for FPSC.

What you seek is quite possible and has been done, but this area of thought is little used and wide open.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Thanks all, It's looking very promising. I'll take some time now to look at the examples you kindly provided me.

Who would have thought FPSC = First Person Shopper Creator!!!
