fpsc segment editor tool
I have a bunch of custom segments to make, I don't have a credit card to order magic fps, and paypal takes 9 days to forward money into it and I have to get this stuff done now so I'm using the regular segment editor.

But how do we edit what material it is and what sound and decal it should have, perhaps Ive overlooked a check box or perhaps we open the file and edit it manualy or something.

how do we use the segment editor and have it set up correctly with its material and sounds so that it behaves properly.

Butters had this somewhere on a thread.

You needed to do this in the FPE itself....

I cant remember what you had to changed.

Look on Butterfingers profile and check his threads.

These are controlled by the material index. (wood, metal, concrete, etc.) I wish I could tell you off the top of my head what numbers they are, but alas, I cannot. I think it's 0 through 4 maybe? Perhaps someone here can post them or you may have time to experiment.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Ive put the right script in above, so we see 4 sections, the first being the floor, the rest are the walls, we can see material, here as materialindex, we add numbers and it changes what material.
I think materials are this.

0 soft
1 stone
2 metal
3 wood
4 glass
5 liquid
6 cloth

It would be nice to add more materials, like grass, gravel, etc, also variations on some like stone2 or wood2 so you can have different sounds say if one was walking on a wooden floor then went to walk on a different type of wood floor.

I think each material will relate to a decal to put on the segment if it is shot, so perhaps all one needs to do is specify the material and that's it, I wouldn't mind knowing if one can add extra materials somehow.
