I was wondering what you put in a string table or what you do so you can have DLL functions return things? When I try something normal it says: "Return type unknown"

So what do I do?

Is the resource string, you have [%S, and for your function you return (for C) a DWORD, after creating a string (using CreateDeleteString).

Might be worth actually reading the technical document...
