Hey everyone,
I was cleaning up my pc the other day, and I came across a skateboard .ms3d file that was created 6 months ago by me. Lol, I must've forgotten about it.

Well, I applied a quick texture, which turned out better then expected, and packed it all into an installer. I have no in-game screeny, for it is late.

Here is a milkshape render. (with some extra eye candy photoshop work.)

Enjoy, installer attached.

You know an in game screenshot is required.I am going to quit posting and just start locking/deleting threads.

FPSC X9 does not work on my vista pc. I don't even have it installed anymore--but I can still use Magic FPS to get them fpsc ready.

looks nice dude but you know most skateboards have the logo design on the bottom and griptape on the top. unless it's colored grip tape.

@Aaron: Why not, works splendid on mine. I tested it on a regular user account works there too.

Nice skateboard too, the texture seems pretty vibrant.

Time is ticking away.

can somebody post an in-game screenshot?
I don't want an FPSC ready item with automatic user bank installer in 3d-chat, lol.

no offense but that is... completely wrong.

You didnt make any trucks, the wheels / trucks should be right under the bolts on each side, the nose should be rounder, the grip tape is on top of the board...

Like this

(I could post the download for that model if you want it for reference)

That looks like an old powell purolta board, back before they stream lined the design to make them all hlaf pipe boards.. So all in all it does resemble a sketching board..

P.S long live mike Mcgill!!!!!!!

And I dunno if it's just my board but that one there looks a little too wide too. if you want a design on the top, make it look like it's painted over the grip tape too The kicks at both ends should also have 2 or 3 extruded segments rather than one; as the angle there is too far straight off, immagine trying to ollie with that. Lastly The wheels should be moved inwards and you should make the trucks bulkier.

Everyone loves a paragraph of crit Good luck if you ever try it again mate

lol.
I wasn't really going for complete accuracy, plus-I am limited on poly's, as you can't have like a 2000 poly skateboard model in an FPSC game that the player won't even look at.

You could still keep it more or less the same poly count, those features would only add another 50-100 tris more probably.

why does 3D chat become the dumping ground for FPSC? Why not create another board under FPSC like FPSC media WIP, where FPSC models can be sent to awaiting adjustments to meet all requirements. While FPSC people don't want them there, simply throwing into 3Dchat doesn't seeem like the right answer.

This was created with an Installer for FPSC.

I agree, incase FredP or KeithC aren't around I'll give them a buzz about it on OG. FPSC Media WIPs perhaps do worse here than over there, although you'll get other audiences, but it's actually lighter with users here and well, most of the stuff coming for the FPSC forums aren't the sort of thing people like to offer time to provide crit too, especially as there's so many of them.

First of all I wholeheartedly agree with you.We do need a board for WIPs and such but that is up to the powers that be at TGC.I don't get to make those decisions.
As far as why it got moved...he didn't post an FPSC in game screenshot (or more) so I moved it here rather than locking it or deleting it.
And the original poster cannot test to see if the model even works in FPSC.
We need a WIP board for FPSC.

Thanks FredP. Not being a MOD I seem to think along the lines that you guys have a magic interface to do anything. At different sites Mods "powers" vary greatly. I didn't realize you can't create a new board without approval.

It's a tough call, becuase I wouldn't want to see the thread get locked. But usually like SA said, it's not anything that is asking for crit or helpful to general modelers. Also my not owning FPSC probably adds to my confusion as to why an in-FPSC shot is necessary. If it is FPSC ready, and has an installer - shouldn't that be enough? Can't someone test it out? I guess you are doing the best you can, and the 3Dchat board isn't that busy anyway. Perhaps I have a case of FPSC sour-grapes. LOL!

I've seen a lot of these threads, and they don't do well here, as they just sink into the abyss fairly quickly. Hopefully the FPSC section can get a MEDIA WIP board going.

Perhaps as part of the thread requirement you need 'ingame shots' if the person doesn't provide any, I'd probe them to get one, - if it is suppose to be genuine FPSC content, I'd keep it there (if they refuse to give the FPSC versions or FPSC screenshots, I'd probably go for the lock- because they're essentially breaking a certain rule for the board and are refusing to fix it), I think this thread for example could have been probed for FPSC screenshots. - but as said it may need retexturing, even if he refused, I can still see this thread staying up (even if it may make the odd bigot FPSCer a bit annoyed, as I've seen some get) because it has a screenshot of the model, the model as FPSC ready and explains it may need a retexture (In my mind I don't see how an FPSC screeenshot will make a difference to people wishing to download it)

If its a genuine showcase of work - like a rendered 3D character for people to provide critique then I think the move option is good idea.

These are just thoughts - I don't mean to sound if I'm telling you how to do your job - but I thought it may help if I vented a couple of ideas if they haven't already been addressed by FPSC mods.

It is a bit of a difficult situation to resolve, I agree, but I hope our suggestions are helpful and thanks for listening, Fred.

I'm of a mind to lock/delete threads that don't follow the rules such as this one but I am trying to be somewhat reasonable.
What the poster should have done is found someone who had FPSC who could test/take screenies of the media for him.
I shudder every time of think of someone posting something they haven't tested...I am sure that has been the cause of a number of bad things over the years...
I do the best I can but I always listen to what others say...I find the older I get the dumber I am.

I thought Wisdom came with age I wouldn't call yourself dumb, that's what friends are for.

If you must, you can stamp your foot down on some of these posts, it's nice to always be reasonable, it makes the forum a fair place, but there are times when people don't stick to the rules and if those are the people that are causing the floodings, the odd lock won't hurt if they don't post what is necessary after you ask them.

You don't need no remorse, if someone gives you grief about locking it, you can have an hour or two of entertainment, I mean nobody takes 'extreme naggers/pain-in-the-bums seriously.

Cheers.
