I've been taking all the free material I can so far and feel kind of bad about it

So... I was thinking that I would try out some retexturing on some stock items and give them out for free. I could use some tips though, What program should I use and such. If this is the wrong area to post this, please tell me.

A) You should be in the media forum.
B) You shoud have looked throught he Media section - this has been covered many times (Softwares to use etc.)
C) If you do make retextures, make sure you dont put the 3D model with - only the texture file.
D) I wont link you to the exact place, so then you can look through all the stickies during your search for it.
