Hi guys!

I've installed DBC (with latest patch) but when I try compiling code in DarkEdit or within DB itself, it just hangs there and doesn't stop until I close it in the Task Manager.

Any suggestions why it's behaving like this? And any on how to fix it?

Cheers.

Just a thought, are you using Windows Vista?

Sorry, forgot to mention specs. No, running XP but it has been working for a couple of weeks before yesterday when it started playing up.

After another try, it does seem to be working from within DBC. DarkEdit just seems to hang when I try executing code, while it does check syntax but only after a very extended wait.

Can't say it's something I'm familiar with, I only had DarkEdit freezing on me after a reinstall, where I'd forget to set the DB core exe ... well, it wouldn't hang as such, it would pop up a messag box which said "Error running Core" - only the box would stay in the background.

An extended wait to perform a syntax check? just perhaps... do have any processes running, that are:
CPU intensive
Higher priority
both (worst case scenario)

No, there was nothing running other than DarkEdit when I was checking syntax. However, I've done a fresh install of DarkEdit and things seem to be working better now. That baffles me because re-installing was the first thing I did when the problem occured?!

Anyway, no harm done. Hopefully the problem has been fixed.

Thanks lads!
