i've also been working on an rts but left darkbasic as it was just to slow most likly i didn't optimized it enough but i have gone though completly re-writing it for the 7th or 8th time now it's no easy task
also ai is extremely hard for an rts i mean it starts off simple...not really...and gets harder and harder creating a smart one yet not to smart is very difficult...of coarse ai in any game is hard but with something that has to build, move units, search, attack, group, etc etc
o then you ave to be able to control every object u need this is were darkbasic gets slow when you have armies of over 100*3 players
