Hi everyone

I just finished i game project..Now i am giving serious thoughts about an R.T.S game like age of empire and stuff like that. I want it to be like second-life also where people can log in useing their internet connection..How nice will it be!

I cant do this alone..Is their anyone out there who can help me on this?

You really need to learn more about the language before embarking on something like an RTS. You only joined 2 months ago.

What exactly do you need/want to learn from?

my friend.

I am useing DarkBasic since 2004! So i'm not a new born in this language.My game Impact horizon was built in DB.(see it in the newsletter of june 1st).

Anyway.Thanx for ur reply on the R.T.S

Have you taken a look at my tutorial on rts? Not perfect, but it should give some ideas. And if you want help on a game you'll have to ask more specific questions. I'd start by figuring out how i would want to manage everything then move to character interaction.

i've also been working on an rts but left darkbasic as it was just to slow most likly i didn't optimized it enough but i have gone though completly re-writing it for the 7th or 8th time now it's no easy task

also ai is extremely hard for an rts i mean it starts off simple...not really...and gets harder and harder creating a smart one yet not to smart is very difficult...of coarse ai in any game is hard but with something that has to build, move units, search, attack, group, etc etc

o then you ave to be able to control every object u need this is were darkbasic gets slow when you have armies of over 100*3 players

if you have a psp and know homebrew check out celestial cunning to see how far my rts is
