ok, idk if this is in the right spot but i figured it was since i am making a 2d game. I can not pay to use the programs on the site to make sounds and music so i was wondering if there were free ones that were decent cause ill buy those programs if my stuff goes well. Please help asap

Look on google for GoldWave or Audacity. Both are free.

Free music, textures, models, and tutorials.

audacity, audacity is the best. you can even download 90 free plugins to it, it's easy to use and great.!!! iv'e beeen using it for a year and ti's never let me down.

there is just one thing though. I got recording software now, and i need to create sounds, cause i do not know how to record sounds like swords slashing and stuff.

get a cheap microphone and fake it.
expensive recording mikes will set you back $800.

so get a $10 cheapy and start using things around your house that sound like the audio you want.
scrape two butter knives together while holding them in your fingertips gently for metal on metal sounds.

get a plastic cutlery draw and fill it small stones, then shake it for another effect.


get a music triangle and record that, you can duplicate the sound many times at different pitches to simulate two words clinging and clanging.

make sure the ambient noise is quiet at your house, night time is better.
stay away from the computer if you can to avoid the comps hum in recording etc.

Its what the dobly guys do for movies.
