For the past year now i have bin using Maya as a primary source of models for the products i have created.

Is there a directx/.x exporter plugin for Maya 8.0?

You know this just kills me? Two of the most popular packages (maya and directx) out there and you can get a good export?? And if you look around you will find the same thing every where. One guy asks about maya and directX and no answers..

Ok, enough babbling..

Here is the deal. From what I find there are two choices.

a) build the directX OLD VERSION plugin for maya 7, with the maya 8.5 libraries.

b) use this.. http://www.c-unit.com/downloads/cvxporter/

I can't get the 8.5 to build so I gave up on a). But b, sounds so good doesn't it? Ya its a mazing but wont export textures. It is advertised to but I sure as hack cant get it to. One note, I have to uncheck tangents binomials and adjacencies to get it to work. Like I said no textures you have to reapply them. I read about the author adding multiple uv exports, but I don't know if he did. That was in 04. So If you have any luck please let me know..
