hi there,

first, i'm using wings3d for modelling an uvwrapping.

all of my own models are quiet angularly in fpsc (1.05).
i tried softedges/hardegdes and autosmoothing and even with smooth i get the same results.using more polys (3000+) didn't resolve the problem, the triangles where just smaller.

they are looking good in wings3d.
is there a way to get smoothed edges with wings like most of the stock media models ?

best regards,
kutte128

btw, sorry for the spelling...

Looks like some problems with your normals, really I'd look into re-calculating them. In 3DS Max I'd weld all the verts again, then calculate new normals, don't know what you'd do in Wings.

If all else fails, email me a .3DS version and I'll see if I can smooth it out.

hi van b,

i didn't found a way to weld and recalculate in wings.
it supports edge-welding but that doesn't help nor does vertices-connect.

the 3ds is in the zip-file attached maybe you get it to work

best regards,

thanks Zergei !

but it looks also strange in my levels.
did you found an error in my 3ds ?
i found a toilet in MP1 wich looks even worse than mine.
so i reinstalled fpsc, maybe it was a problem with the install but still this effect.

so could my system be my problem ?
but other models are looking really good...

[edit]
i tried a model created with blender, its the same problem then. it seems it has nothing to do with wings3d, or i make something really important wrong
