Hi All,

Glad to see an active forum for this product.

I`m hoping this (DBPro) is just what I need to remake one of my favourite 3d games - Carrier Command.

After checking out the various products, I`m still not sure what I will need: 3d world studio or cartography shop for map making for instance.. so many external dll plugins to look at and assess.

How many different world formats are supported? What would be best for large maps?

As a programmer used to doing things the hard way (everything from scratch) this seems too good to be true... do people find that the development environment is limited?

Too many questions and lots to read!

I think the biggest question would be is there any kind of review / comparison section / site for the different plugs and products?

cheers!

Absolutely not. I'm a business systems programmer, and DB Pro is pure heaven for someone like me. Simple IDE, simple language, plenty of potential under the bonnet

I would check out the language first and see what it can do and how you achieve it. Then you can make an informed decision on how you want to make your scenery, character models and so forth. There is no right answer (but plenty of opinions!)

Good luck, and welcome

3DWS is like the next version of CS4, just not named CS5, so get 3DWS .
