well then....whats the cheapest? or, can you upgrade a graphics card in a laptop....my dad says I might not be able to.

Oh ****! I meant 2000 bucks! Um well I suggest you by a comp cheaper+upgradeable and some are really small but the price is the same check out dell.com for more info,

It is my understanding (since I don't own one) that FPSC doesn't run well on a laptop.I don't know if x10 will run low on a laptop or not.

It's nearly impossible to replace a laptop video card, you can try buying an external one though.

You can upgrade it (if its not onboard video). But you will want to get a service technician to do it, as they might have to enter your laptop underneath the keyboard (unless the video card slot is shown VIA the back panels.)

I've just customized an HP with:

---o 15" Screen
---o Vista Home Premium
---o 80 GB Hard Drive
---o GeForce 8400M (383 MB)
---o 2 GB RAM
---o Intel Duo Core 2.0 Ghz

Everything else I left at the minimum specs (things like extra software, accessories, service plans, etc.) It came up at precisely $1,213.99 after $100 instant savings.

Theoretically it should run FPSC X10 just fine, the only thing that might not be up-to-par is the graphics. But if I had the money, I would still get it!

Dudes. I got a desktop, with an nvidia 8800, 1.5gigs of ram, some good soundcard, a good motherboard, but xp professional (easily upgraded though) for $600 NZD (like 300 pounds). It was a MEAN deal too.

FPSC runs fine on my laptop, 32 fps, and I'm at the height of groundbreaking technology with an Intel GMA 950. So, technically, I don't actually have a graphics card at all.

Not really. It really depends on the age of the laptop. Older laptops were not really built with performance and gaming in mind, but recently manufacturers have started fitting laptops with PCI slots and more funcitionality with regards to opening it up and adding in more components inside. My mate has a laptop with an 8600GTS 512MB, and let me tell you, it weighs and absoluted ton and the battery would last just about long enough for me to write this message...
