I can make, test, and build a game but when I put the finished disk into another computer I get various different error messages most having to do with "something is missing" (my computer don't literally say something is missing but something to that extent).

Well, apparently you DID build the game.

1. Did you put all of the games files on the CD? (game exe, files folder, ini files)
2. Are you trying to play the game from the CD or did you copy the contents of the CD to the hard drive?
3. What exactly is the error message?
4. Does the system you are trying to play the game on meet the minimum system requirements for FPSC?
5. Does the system you are trying to play the game on have the latest DirectX installed?
6. Etc...?

MORE INFO!!!

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Yes. Just for your information, you can include the DirectX redist package from Microsoft with your game media. Get the DirectX redistribution package from Microsoft.

Quote: "This download provides the DirectX end-user multi-languaged redistributable that developers can include with their product. The redistributable license agreement covers the terms under which developers may use the Redistributable. For full details please review the DirectX SDK EULA.txt and DirectX Redist.txt files located in the license directory.

Nicholas,

The game cannot be played from a CD. Copy the contents of the CD to a folder on the hard drive and it will play.

When the games plays, it must be able to uncompress it's files, and that cannot be done on a CD. Alternatinely, you can use an install maker that will copy the files to a directory on the hard drive.

See my website for free install maker downloads under Downloads/more....

Best.

Nicholas Primiano,

I and others have been asked not to post twice or more in a row.
I dont know why people havent informed you of this rule.
It would be in your best interest to read all the guidelines for using the forums.

As for your issue.

When you built the game FPSC made a folder and put all your game files in it. Did you put absolutely 100% all of the files that were in that folder on the CD? That is an absolute must. Some people in the past have just taken the EXE for the game and put that on a CD. That will not work. You must have every single file that is in the game folder on the CD. Then you have to copy them to your HD in order for it to work. FPSC games cannot be played directly from a CD.

I notice that you mention vista once or twice. You can't build an FPS Creator game with Direct X 10, any machine you install FPS Creator to must have Direct X 9.0c installed and downloaded from www.microsoft.com\directx

Also ensure that this game is running with full administration rights, and if nessessary, you can try running it in the Windows XP compatibility layer.

Think you need to start a little smaller till you get the hang of programming.
Your just not ready to do this yet.

My question is simply this. Where is it that anyting is mentioned that Nicholas Primiano needs to know how to program to do? What part of his issue requires programming to remedy it?

It just seems to me that someone is promoting a competors product on the TGC forums.
