Also, I want to know if the actual fps creator has the same amount of lag as the demo.

I don't know how much RAM I have (256mb rings a bell though) and I don't know what an good amount is to run fpsc, I'm using it with amount a full second to 1.5 second's lag.

Does yours run without any lag? How much ram do you have? How do I even check how much ram I have?

More than you have...512 MB at a minimum and more would be a good idea.
You should check out the specs on FPSC.You will get a lot of information.

To check your RAM, right-click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, and click "Properties." Then, somewhere on the window that comes up, it'll say what processor you have, what OS you have, and how much RAM you have.

I have 512MB and the editor works fine.

You can add virtual memory to speed things up, if you have gig's to spare on your hard drive.

I'm running FPSC very well on 2 gigs. I'd go for 512MB/1GB.

Im a Full time Certified geek

and adding Virtual ram actully Slows things down
Depending on ur Hard drive Speed

Its always best to keep as much as u can going through the Ram and not the HD and if u want Virtual ram, then put in a Second HD (hardDirve)
and that will save u from Chokeing ur bandwith between the CPU and the HD (its sorda like running 4 games on the same hard drive.... slow right? lol im such a geek!!

iv use to run fpsc on 512mb ram.
if you change your virtual memory only go a max of x4 (512=2048) your system ram it wont lag till a few hours of heavy use. tho i did have a 512mb g-card too so maybe that helped.
if you have a single hardrive cheaper upgrade will be some more ram, most simple upgrade to do. but do check your motherboard spec i.e what type it uses, and how much your motherboard can take.
ram wil prolly cost less than fpsc.

good luck

3x your physical RAM is a good balance. Again, it depends how you use your computer, and yes, too much will confuse Windows.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

I used virtual RAM before, ruined my HD. Once you think about it, your PC wants to use physical RAM as little temporary library for it to refer to for later data calls. When you use virtual RAM, it sometimes overuses the HD, which is usually the cause of data:process breed of lag.

I'd put virtual RAM about 1.5xphysical RAM for a generic HD. And I'd put 2-4xphysical RAM if you have a SATA or some type of Serial ATA.
