I hope you're joking, yeah?

There's a help file that comes with the language that explains everything you need to know about how to use it.
There are examples, there is a Codebase (link up top), countless links on the forum for newcommers...

Do a quick, 5 minute look around, and you'll find more information than you'll ever need.

Oh, sorry, I thought the Codebase was a place where you entered a code and got access to new downloads etc.
I am seriously sorry from Bloder.

bloder, http://developer.thegamecreators.com/?f=t01/3d_tutorial_index go through this tutorial, it's real easy,

Quote: "I want to learn about how to make a character"

you would need a 3d modeler for that, such as blender or milkshape.. or you could find a character in the darkmatter pack that comes with every purchase of dbc and use that.. (doesnt darkmatter still come with darkbasic??)

edit:
when reading your post more and more i get the feeling you thought that darkbasic was a modeler? is that what you thought?

If you want to learn how to program using Dark basic and have absolutely no previous experience, then start here:

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=99497&b=10

But, this does assume that you don't think DB is a modelling program...
