I know that the Conv3D converts 3DS to X but what about X to 3DS? Is there a program that does this?

Did someone say 3D scanning on my desk, or was that just an AdBot?
What happens when when you mix coke, pop rocks, vinegar, and baking soda?

In DB Classic they're just as good, and smaller - I believe Sinani is a DB Classic user.

Yes, most packages will import .x and export .3ds, but not all save animation data with 3ds if your model has any.

Really?

Can you name one?

I've been looking for something that will do that for a while now.

Milkshape has one... of sorts -- not listed in the import screen, but open up the DirectX mesh tools , click the import button (second from left), and in comes a mesh, textures get lost, and so do joints.
But in the case of joints milkshape won't export joints in 3ds format anyway, just the textures get lost.

Ultimate Unwrap 3D will convert those files. It isn't free but if you are into game development/modeling you will find that it pays for itself.

Oh... because my 3D modeling program is Anim8or, and it won't import .x. But I found a way to to it through Blender. I import my .x file in Blender, export it as .obj (exporting as .3ds won't work on my comp), then import the .obj in Anim8or.

Google up lithunwrap. It's a very early freeware version of Ultimate Unwrap 3D, but still does what you want it to do. Here's a link to the download page: http://files.seriouszone.com/download.php?fileid=198. There are 3 mirrors, I think only one still works though.
