Bumping a thread, in forum terms, means that you post in a thread that's either old or far back on another page. Bumping is often a bad thing, like if you bump a month-old game-thread asking "When's this gonna come out?". But if you bump your own thread with new material for example, it's accepted.
That pretty much sums it up.
