I'll make 3d games for anyone for $25 US for the first game which will between 5-10 levels and $10 US per game for the each other game. This are only for their website. You can't sell these games but it will make your site more frequently updated. I'll make at least 2 games a month. I'm not gonna use DB, I'm gonna use another program. You'll have loads of games for your site fast.

1- What does this have to do with DarkBASIC Pro?
2- Where are samples of your work?
3- Who owns the game titles and media once the deal is cut?
4- What kind of games do you make?
5- Who gets sued if the content is found offensive?
6- What game programming tools do you use?

It doesn't cost me $25 to open notepad, change some stuff, then FTP index.html onto my website.

David, these people are ripping into you. Show some people you can code, impress a few folk, win the 20-line challenge, whatever, just get some respect. Then, just maybe, you can start asking for money.
"Many people think before they act, I act before I think" - That's exactly what is happening here. It's not a good idea to go onto a forum which is full of experienced games programmers and tell them you can code, with no evidence, and ask them for money for it, when half of these people can already code great games. They are the least likely people in the world to need games coded for them. Think about it.

Edit: What an appropriate avatar.

If you need money urgently then making games isn't the right way to go about it. Games take MONTHS to develop. If you make something in "a simpler program" - by that I presume you mean T3DGM or Click 'n Play then you won't be able to sell it.

Trust me, getting a part-time job at a local store would be much quicker or doing a paper-round in the morning (assuming that you are old enough)

1) he already said he's not using db/dbpro
2) no it's not, you need to use a proper programming language like c++ before any REALLY amazing things are possible. DB/DBPRO will always be limited by the amount of commands it has, copiled languages like c++ are ever growing

I believe someone's forgetting third party DLL's. Plus, I'd like to see you make a full 3D game in less then a month with C++, ha.

He didn't say you could make a full 3d game in less than a month. He said you couldn't in Dark Basic. And you're forgetting that DLLs are made in C++ (almost always).

Jeez, people, do your research before arguing...

Technically yes, but your talent will limit you WAY before DBP will. Secondly DBP IS a compiled language and it is expandable as the many TPC DLLs show.

As for "REALLY amazing things" being possible, bullshit. DBPro already supports bump mapping, reflections, blend / cube / spherical mapping + shaders (which are used for the "WOW!" effects in 3DMark03). Patch 5 will feature DX9 + DX9 shaders, and you cannot get any more high tech than DX9 shaders, even with C++.

it isn't just talent though... we operate as ONE man or TWO man bands - we can't hope to produce enough media etc, as we don't have enough time, even if we did have the talent.

I have not seen anyone on this forum who has really pushed DBP to the limit, and it will be a while before we do.

And I'm saying you can in a month and you can't in pure C++. And that's exactly my point, the DLL's are made in C++ so you can do the basic coding in DB and all those extra really great things can be used through DLL's.

Jeez, use common sense.
