Congrats to last rounds winner Indi. He has proposed to make a futuristic handheld computing device for this competition.

Quote: "
-Go as far as you want into the future and if you want add some fun specs, like a handheld with 4 diamond true cpus or something

-It has to have a uv map and texture since the overall shape of these things are going to be easy shapes to map."
-Same rules as always apply in the main thread.
-Post your work in progress posts here.

Deadline July 17th.

Note: I will run things until Moondog or another suitable person returns.

here's mine... still needs a proper texture for the body, but here's what i think your daily paper will look like in 10-20 years. it uses an paper thin OLED display, and displays a sort of webpage.

You buy the device, and it downloads the days news as it happens from which ever newspaper you have a subscription too. You can even have multiple subscriptions, and it can compare two articles on the same subject side by side.

You change pages by opening and closing it, as if you're turning pages of a newspaper, keep the right one still and move the left one to go forward a page, visa versa to go back.

maybe even flip it over to get straight to the sport?

I don't have a sig, live with it.

aww Manic you took mine, I don't intend to enter this compo because of being busy at the moment, but as soon as I read the title I thought of a device exactly like that ^^.

Manic that's a really cool idea, you should try to patent that thing and market it! No more newspapers on the table all day, just flip open your newsscreen and there's the day's paper same as if you ordered it delivered to your house. Really awesome!

lol, maybe i should. But it'd probably be more economical for me to patent it, then sit on the idea until apple or microsoft make it, then sue their asses!

So true, and typical of today's society. That made me so mad when that one gaming company patented a trigger similar to the one on the wii controller and sat on it until they sued Nintendo. I guess this is kinda offtopic, im gonna get to work on my entry.

Ok, I've been working on mine a bit:

In the future, Verizon will team up with Nabisco and the chocolate phone will quickly be replaced by the Oreo Phone.

I am somewhat proud of my oreo texture, it took a while to make.

I don't see why it wouldnt be as long as it somehow helps people compute stuff. It's looking really awesome by the way.

[edit] I'm just about done with my entry, i might tweak a few things. What do you guys think?

By the way Aralox, you can get your image to work by putting [ img]YourUrl.png[ /img] only without the spaces.
