I recently downloaded Gimp to learn texturing. Whenever I make a texture, for example I made a blood splat, and I try to save it a message comes up and says:

"Saving C:\...\...\...\... failed:
Unknown file type"
(the ... is not the name of the files)

Does anybody know whats wrong and how to fix it.

In the save name dialog you need to put the extension, its not like photoshop or any normal program that adds it for you for name just put in something like blood.jpg or blood.png.
