I'm currently creating a free reference image pack because I'm appalling at modeling and i know how hard it is to find decent top side front simple pictures of guns and people.
Some are still being finished but I'l take any requests now. BY the way for issues with coyright, i draw all my material using a side on picture to create a top and front view.

nnnnngnngggghhhghghghgAARRRRRG!!!! you're talking about it AGAIN!

we've had the "is it ok to post this?" thread

now we've got the "i'm going to post this..." thread

at what point will you cut to the chase and post the "I've posted what i've been talking about for nearly a week" thread.

look, i don't want to come off as harsh here (although I imagine I already have done), but this is getting ridiculous. I want to see you post this stuff, because I think (or hope) it'll be valuable to the community, but all you've been posting is hot air.

before you ask if anyone has requests, it might be an idea to give people an idea of what you're capable of.

happy uploading

waahey! he posts!

that looks like a decent reference to be fair. What did you say you'd done these for? GCSE? good work.

A note for anyone using this as a ref though;

The top projection is a bit off, he seems to be a bit boxy from on high, and the triceps are a bit thin. But you could definitely do worse than starting with this as reference, it'll give you an idea about muscle flow, and using a relaxed pose for modelling will make life much easier when you come to rigging.

So, well done on following through on your myriad of posts, and i look forward to seeing some more.

lol, thanks and yes I am in the middle of gcse work and i decided to put the technical drawing room to good use and make a free pack. And yes i am a bit dissapointed with the arms but I'm not too bothered.. And havok, i looked there and those are textures not references.

Just because it says textures, doesn't mean you cant use them as references. The tree textures could just be dropped into the background of your application along with the characters. I use that site for my character references and so can other people.

If I understand right, you're taking requests? If so, can you make me an old man and/or a thug?

The human male looks good, quite appropriate for a reference image.

How about a female?

I think that it would be most useful if it were done like the male - showing just the body and muscles. A good looking female shouldn't be all that muscular though. With a good starting reference image people could make better looking models, usually the proportions are all wrong.

The female might be a while because im working on several orc and troll charcters and some siege machines such as trebuchet to have as wreckage. This weekend, il try and post a large number of medieval weapons i did over this past week.

OK here are the medieval style weapons ( i got inspired from JOn and Bond1s fantasy pack). They aren't the greatest quality in the world mainly because i wasn't drawing from a side image but for a basic level modeler they should suffice. enjoy

as high as possible, preferably with the features aligned, its for a high poly, quite lickly to turn into a sculpt. i have sertched for ages and found absolutely nothing. face shape fairly rounded, a ruf outline of the ear will do. wrinkles in the correct places. i don't have much expiriance of what old people look like lol

the refs you have already made are exalent.

learn blender, you will never regret it.

ok hessies and chewey i made the old man head. I don't think its very good but all the sizes and measurements are correct and the main wrinkles are in the correct places. I tried to get the detail on the front view and the dimmensions corret on the side.Let me know if you want somthing else on it ie beard or larger nose etc.

And here is a piece of concept art. I couldn't put another view on the page and i couldn't be bothered because it would take to long. So if anyone wants to have a go at creating this, you can.

Over the weekend i did this. This is a fantasy warrior partly based on 2nd age elves from the LOTR but it is more muscular and has different weapons and helmet. Note the Shield design as a hole in the side. This is so the warrior could put the spear through it but still be safe behind the shield so as to form an effective front rank. Sorry i couldn't do the behind view or any of the other views on the weapons.

DO you mind giving a few more details. Ie horns or no horns, toga style robe or cape syle robe and should it look more like a balrog or like the box art of diablo II?

Okay mate just want a demon with a black face but you can just see its eyes. Wearing a Robe. And a hood over its head.

Cheers,

Ok deathhead here is the demon. I found a good reference for a skull because i wasn't quite sure where you wanted your eyes so I resized the skull so it fits like a real head in to the hood.If you make the belt red and the robe and hood very dark grey, almost black so you can see the difference between the black of the robe and the black of the area within the hood. This could also be made in to a monk, cult follower, sorcerer or assasin if anyone wishes to.

Requests are still welcome by the way.

I was looking around Errant AI's site and i found a link by Jon FLetcher which gives incredibly good references for cars, trains, tanks and a lot more. It isn't so good for weapons or people but for anyone wishing to make more cars or tanks or any other vehicle in their game should look here.

And for those who live in england, the newspaper "The Sunday Times" has a section called in gear which as well as having good gadget and game reviews, has a column uusually done by Jeremy Clarkson which always has a very good reference image of the cars front and side.
