The graphics card needs to be an Nvidia 8000 or higher to run X10. That would be my first step.

Get a graphics card first. As an AMD athlon with 1.8ghz can out perform a intel 2.6ghz. So go with a new graphics card, if not the 8 series, pick up a 7800.

Go with a PCI-E card too, if your board has PCI-E, that is.

Id really recommend stretching a bit for the 7950

It wouldn't be much different from the 7800, it would be a slight performance boost, but nothing much.

Doesn't matter what people say, the computer needs all the right bits to work. It'll only be as good as it's crappest part.

A massive new Nvidia card will be helpful, no doubt. But then why not 2GB of Ram. Actually, as a point... does your MB have PCi express? Because your better off using the ne NVIDIA cards on a PCi Express slot.

If you can,go for a BFG 8800GTS 320MB overclocked like me. They provide awsome performance in every game possible. Make sure upgrade your CPU to something like a dual core beforce buying the GPU due to there will be a serious CPU bottleneck otherwise. I am running on a overclocked AMD single core (2.6GHZ) and it's holding back the card.

Hope that helped

Heh, butters, I'm Mr Maintenance, I can get any thing working. Just smash the processor into the wrong socket with a claw hammer and it will work fine. Make sure you bolt down your motherboard with 7 inch nails, using a really powerful nailgun.

But honestly, if hes online now, that must obviously mean he has all the right hardware for his computer to run. Right now, because you don't want to spend much, it is a good idea to get a graphics card. Every thing else you have, will do, till you want to spend more.

Just don't go pulling out the front panel connectors :\

Possibly your power supply, but you have'nt told us what it is. Dual core CPU's and higher end graphics cards require more power. Make sure you have enough before installing more high end components.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Read the documentation that came with your computer, or look on the PSU itself.

recommend.

Robert F , if you got a 450w+ dont feel you have to buy a card without a pci-e card (6-pin) power connector most older model power supply dont have 6pin pci-e , theres converters that allow 2 spare molex (cd rom power plugs) to be converted in to a single 6pin they cost about 1.50p, (500w+ psu get whatever card takes your fancy) 1.50p saves 50pound on new PSU
