Well, I started back in the summer of 85 when i was 12 with my trusty Apple //c. It was a long boring summer, living out on the farm, nothing to do but learn to program.

From there, the addiction grew to assmebly pascal qbasic c++ vc++. I owe it all to Applesoft Basic.

Now im fooling around with DarkBasic just for kicks.

OK so black is a shade, but in hardware terms it's 4 colours especially as if my memory is correct you wheren't limited to black for colour 00 it was as controllable as any other colour onscreen. You could have white for instance, or yellow if you hated your eyes.

1-4 Binary style 3 on a computer? I've been trying to get my computer to "manag'e au trois" for years.

Man this brings back memories... I started out on a BBC model B back in the 80's, my Dad kinda wanted me to program so when I was 8 I was copying code from a book, I think it was called '36 challenging games for the BBC Micro', as I recall there weren't actually 36, at least in my copy... Anywhoose I kinda lost interest at the time and did other stuff, then a few years ago I took computing at school and had to write a piece of psudo-business software using either Visual Basic or QBasic, I plumped for the latter since I like getting right to the code, finished the course and forgot about programmng again for a couple years, then saw DBC in my local friendly games shop and got a copy and have been hooked again for the last year or so, including an upgrade to DBP x-d
