I'd love to use the Dark GDK from PureBasic. It's my most favourite programming language and it's capable of almost anything except modern 3D

So is there any chance to be able to use the Dark GDK from PureBasic in the future?

Why dont you try DarkBASIC Pro? The syntax is pretty similar to PureBasic, and it has pretty much the same functionality as the GDK (same features etc...).

DarkBasicPro has a total different syntax than PureBasic.

I've been wondering this too. I'd like to use Dark GDK with Purebasic, Purebasic is waaay faster then DBP. With PB's speed and TGC's graphics routines I could do some nice things.

I never said it was the same. I said they are similar. Which they are, they are both a form of Basic...

They are not similar enough.
DarkBasicPro's syntax is crap, PureBasic is much more powerful in every aspect except for 3D.

Am not arguing about which is more powerful. Both DarkBASIC and PureBasic are funnily enough a form of Basic. Therefor the language syntax (the way the language is implementated such as if statements, for loops etc) is pretty similar.

What about the PurePLUGIN? Has anyone tried that? It claims the following:

Quote: "PurePLUGIN is a development kit that allows you to create DarkBASIC Professional DLLs using Pure Basic. It is a comprehensive framework allowing you to build your DLL within Pure Basic, and then use it natively in DarkBASIC Professional. It also opens up access to DarkBASIC Professional itself, allowing you access to nearly 95% of all native DarkBASIC Professional commands from within Pure Basic."

Sounds promising.

That's a bit of an overstatement. It's crap in YOUR opinion. While others find it simple to use. Personally, I feel PureBasic's syntax is the worst syntax ever for a BASIC. That's my opinion though. While your statement leads to make some believe that would be fact. Please restate it or deal with my constant nagging, thank you.

Cheers,

I just checked out PureBasic... Ow my head hurts What's up with all those "$" after the procedure thing etc... Nevermind I don't want to know... All I need to worry about is good ol' C++

Anyways, I vote C++ over DarkBasic, BASIC and PureBasic. But then again, that's just my oppinion. Some people think C++ is hard, but I don't understand why.
