Hi, i just brought up an idea of making a sun, if you put a lightmarker in the sky and change the reach to, let's say..1500 or higher. It looks a little like a sun but it's not the best way to do it i suppose.

AaronG: Do you mean like a light at the top of say a 2 story building won't light the floor (if the light is large enough)? Because it will

Search for "HellHouse" in Showcase.

I've done that for a long time. I usually set the range to 500 000 or something, and next try to adjust the position of the light so that it matches the skybox. Playing with the color of the light allows you to create many different "natural" ambience lights.

now if we could only get a sunflare going we'd have some sweet looking outdoor stuff...not that we don't already, but it would ad to it.

Sunflare IS possible, you could just use a decal and paste an image of a sun on it.

i always thought flaring was rather stupid in games, espescially FPS games, note the 'first person shooter', not 'floating camera shooter'

The sad fact is that i can read script, but i just cant write it.

Yeah, since only camera lens suffer from lens flare, why would you would that in your game?

Granted, people can experience coronas around lit objects but not full-blow lens flare.
