As I recall they are aimed at different people vishnu was orginially ment to be for more casual protection I think but all that has changed now that the Phoenix is free for a standard licence. Try out phoenix free and see if there is a vishnu trial just test them and see if they do what you need

Thanks

No offense, S4 and Loc, but I think Pheonix is a ton better. Vishnu is really light on the protection, takes forever to decrypt, seems kinda' thrown together, and I think it slows down your games.

Phoenix, much faster, easier to use, and doesn't affect your fpsc game that much.....plus, it's free.

Well everyone here seems to prefer Phoenix, except me... I have tried the free version of Phoenix and I have the full version of Vishnu and I much prefer Vishnu... For me it seems to take longer to use Phoenix! I've never experienced any slowdown in my game from using Vishnu and even when I test a game protected with Vishnu on my rubbish laptop it decrypts very quickly...

@Inspire... Whatever your opinion about Vishnu saying it was thrown together is a bit much... I certainly don't think that that is a criticism you can throw at it...

It is an honest opinion. What's wrong with that? I thought it seemed thrown together. Not to say that they didn't work hard making it, I'm just saying that it seems incomplete.

While I like Vishnu, I think Phoenix feels a bit more professional and definently offers more features. I'm not actually sure what's in the free version as I have PRO from Beta testing, which I like alot. I haven't used the latest feature additions though due to the fact I'm either on this cruddy laptop or on my other one from 1999...which I run in DOS most of the time (Windows 98 is messed up on it).

Vote today and play the games!

Verb 1. throw together - produce shoddily, without much attention to detail

- throw together 1 : to put together in a hurried and usually careless manner

Quote: "Not to say that they didn't work hard making it, I'm just saying that it seems incomplete."

By saying thrown together you imply they didn't work hard making it... As for it being incomplete it does (imo) what it is supposed to do...

Anyway I'm not trying to make a case for them... I prefer Vishnu, you're more than welcome to prefer Pheonix...

There isn't ANY content protection program that can't be hacked by a person with will and determination (or the ability to cut power to you computer). It's really fun playing with those... but I say go with Vishnu cause I like the name.

Although... that IS $11... I remeber when it was just a side project free for download... people and their money...

Its not who you are or what you've done... its WHY you did it and how far you are willing to go.

Underside do you always go looking for trouble.
Best to leave things alone if you get my drift.
