FPSC Classic Product Chat / [LOCKED] can't host/join in multiplayer

i've built my game, uploaded it and my friend has downloaded it. but when either of us try to play it doesn't give us the option to host, join, choose a character, input our names, nothing. it just takes us to an in game shot where we can look around but not walk. in the bottom corner it says 'waiting to join'.

what is the problem?
