Hello game fans! I am new to these forums, I have 3D Gamemaker lite and want to start making some games with it. I'm thinking of getting FPS creator too.

I have programming experience with C++ and BASIC so I hope I can create something here.

Also if anyone is looking for a tester or someone to help out on any of their work I'll be willing to help.

Thanks, see you soon.

Welcome...but 3D Gamemaker Lite is not discussed on the forums. If you're wanting to program, then DarkBASIC (Professional) is what you need.

Okay that's great. Are there any good tutorials you can recommend for DarkBASIC? I'm going to look through the site now to see what I can find.

Thanks

There is a big difference between DarkBASIC (the original and referred to as Classic [DBC]) and DarkBASIC Pro [DBP]. Pro offers a whole range of features not included in DBC. I have DBC but will soon be upgrading to Pro

Tutorials can be found all over the forum for just about anything, scroll down to the search box and type in what you want.

I didn't know about that rule and it was 659 x 126!
Isn't that a little OTT? I'm gonna have to re-make it because of 65 pixels!!!

I see, thanks, I think I'll do tutorials for DBC and see what I come up with, then I'll think about getting DBP and FPS maker, that FPS maker looks really good, especially the video for the DX10 version, I would love to make something out of that.

Take a look at TDKs at the top of the board.

FPSC is not a programming language though, it is a drag and drop editor. You will only be able to make FPS's. Since you have already said you are into programming I would recommend DBP

For Gamemaker, you'll find little support, there is a member on these forums, zavix, I think, who might be able to help you out. Just look him up, he made some topics in the Work In Progress forum. I think Gamemaker should be pretty self-explainatory.

Oh, and BTW, never believe DBC isn't good enough to create high-standard games. Actually, some of the best DarkBASIC games are (being) made in Classic. However, Pro does offer some advantages over Classic, and Classic holds some pro's over Pro. So, just try both demo's and see.

Do remember though that DBC and DBP are truely programming languages. Grab the demo's and see if you can whip up something.

I'm going to do the 3d Monster Hunt Tutorials for DBC now.

Yes, I am interested in the programming side, but I'd also like to try out FPSC because it's great to be able to create something that you want, the way you want, and not be bound by lack of programming knowledge and everything else it takes to make a game.

you mentioned its drag and drop, does it work like a game level editor at all?

I'll check out zavix and his topics. Thanks for the advice guys
