I think that in FPSC x 10 we should be able to work with maps of a much bigger size. As they are now they are just to small.

What do you think?

I think we've got plenty of room as it is. Making even bigger maps will just cause lag issues. If you don't have enough room you can always build up or down!

Agreed, I have never filled up the whole grid, yet. 40x40 is just fine IMO.

It'll be good if you are making a darkness type game where everything is free-roam. But I doubt it.

I'm sure that if they release the source code you could modify it yourself.

They're not going to for X10 because it uses an internal version of DBP.

I think it would be great for FPSC x 10 to have much bigger maps. I mean, there is no harm in it but the benefit is huge. For the game im gonna be making, I'll need a lot bigger maps.

I think they should increase the size.

Thoughts?

If I was to create everything I have planned for years now, I would require at least something like 100x100 grid. This would mostly be for outdoor levels with some buildings you could enter and search.

But I think 40x40 is decent. It forces you to actually think before doing stuff, sometimes limits can fuel innovation.

So, if they were to increase the grid size, I'd be happy. If they were not to, I'd simply accept it and customize some of my levels.

No, they said the code won't be given out on the release of X10, since the internal version of DBP (DBP X10), is still being modified.

It would be cool as a outdoor\indoor engine. But it would take the old feel out of FPSC if you know what I mean. -,-

But I don't like that feel. *gasps echo in from the whole community* But no, really, from what the beta testers say it doesn't even have the old "FPSC made" feel in X10... Also I would like more support for outdoor things but I'm okay with just importing models and such like we currently have to do. Although I'm in no since saying I wouldn't like or use an out doors editor, in fact I would love to have one.

WHAT YOU NEED BIGGER MAPS!?!?! Why would you want that? lets do the math here: 40X40X20 that's 32'000 segment blocks according to my calculator! If anything I think we need smaller levels maybe 20X20X20 so as to save memory and make the game run faster. Have you really ever used the whole map? I have never used a quaater but still I would be amazed if you could fill half the map (with an entertaining level) withought FPSC running at 1 fps!
