Let's just say I cracked FPS creator or another product from here (plz note i did not really as I have legal paid for copies of the ones I use) could I report how I did it and how to fix it? I like to crack stuff and I thought I could help out my favorite company in some way. If not i won't do it.

Since this is causing some comotion let me be clear on this point. I did not crack it yet and I will not do so unless I get permission from a developer.

That's basically saying that you have cracked FPSC, and other products as well. Which is illegal you know.

No it is not. Cracking them on my computer is not as upon download I am allowed to modify them in anyway I wish. Distributing these cracks would be illegal. Any way I want HELP the company by helping them fix it so if another cracker comes along who is black hat and decides to crack FPSC he will find a pretty solid defense against him.

Um no... I'm almost 100% certain that you DON'T have the right to modify it in any way just because it is now on your computer...

IMO making this thread was a very silly thing to do...

Yeah, this thread doesn't make you look the least suspicious..

Also, reverse engineering is prohibited in almost all cases when it comes to software, so whether you do it for your yourself only, it still may be illegal.

Let a mod check my account I guarantee you I purchased it. Anyway modifing files ON MY COMP are in no way illegal. However giving away these modifications is very illegal. And none of you get the point tht I want to HELP thts right H-E-L-P help thegamecreators.

This is the percise reason game companies hate hackers (real hackers who don't give away their hacks to legions of leechers) As long as the modify client-side stuff (on their pc) all they can do is ban them but they can take no legal action(if their is know distributing or server side hacking or packet editing).

You see this is where I think you are wrong... the actual act of modifying the files is what is illegal whether or not you have a license for the software and whether or not it is on your computer...

But maybe I am wrong.. please direct me to the part of license which says you can modify the files while they are on your own computer...

[edit] maybe it is not illegal but it is certainly a breach of the license... actually I think it is illegal but getting the proof that someone has done it is the reason why people don't get taken to court...

It doesn't matter what your intentions are this was still a silly thing to make a topic about as discussion of cracking software is against the AUP... saying you have done it whether you own the software or not was a big no, no...

Lemme just say the point of this is right now tht I DID NOT ATTEMPT THIS YET!! I only do so with permission from the ppl in charge. I do this with site with software I like and don't want to see lose profit. Like here which got me started in coding and has great customer support( I mean I am in awe over it still) or xara.com which I like thier software so I offered to help them out too (surprisingly thier expesive software is so unprotected I could literally get the source code and crack it in 1 minute)

Before you said this, I was going to stand up for you. You said that you cracked it, and now you say that you didn't attempt it yet.

I know what you said, and from where I'm from, that still means that you DID crack it.

Well I said I didn't and I won't w/o permission and where I am from those words mean what they say.

Anyone from the staff can contact me at petros000@hotmail.com if you would like to discuss anything other than suing me as I previously stated I did not do this yet.

You said you didn't crack it but it's highly unlikely that you will say you did. You're developing yourself a reputation as a cracker as we speak/type.

I prefer white hat hacker (cracker is for illegal hacking and i dont do tht) I never said I did I said lets say I did as in if i did could I report it to the TGC staff so it can be patched. This TGC suffers no loses and prevents black hat crackers from getting their hands on it.

Well most programs are relatively easy to crack. I am saying more I would try to crack it and report and security holes tht would lead to my success to the TGC staff.

Maily I would attempt:

Removing Serial Check
Fishing A Serial
Patching Registry
Freezing Demo Time + Removing Nag Screens

I wonder if FPSC s even packed. I didn't even look at it in peid yet

Anyway companies pay alot of money for hackers to crack thier software a report security holes. I want to do as a voluteer. Even if you have a team for it already the more eyes you have the more you see.

Surely you are now just asking for a ban... it's time to STOP talking about this on the forum...

The only course of action you should have taken was contacting TGC directly...

Well If I did tht we wouldn't be having this fun conversation.

But in all seriousness yeah you might be right

Jesus its like I am trying to get this software for free. I guantee I purchased this stuff. The only ones I would try to crack anyway were ones a purchased. Which would leave me to DBPro, FPSC, and gamestudio(not this company though)

Or

http://www.thegamecreators.com/?m=contact_support

If there is a person that has an illegal copy of FPSC they will be discovered by TGC. Going on a witch hunt won't solve anything. Does anyone that is not TGC affiliated think that they can punish the creator of this thread? I'm not going to say that they are guilty or inocent. I have no clue either way. Neither does anyone else that has posted so far.

@th3 dark j0k3r: Don't thank me. You have really opened yourself up for some serious critizing. I'm not defending you. I'm just pointing out that even if your guilty there is nothing that anyone that has posted so far can do about it except notify TGC without proof. That's all I have done.

th3 dark j0k3r,

You've been here a while and know how the community as a whole feels about this kind of thing. If you wanted to get permission from the creators of the software, why didn't you e-mail them. They are not here, are they?

If on the other hand you wanted notoriety, then you have succeeded. Now you will be considered a pirate, whether or not you actually are.

Congrats.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

yes that sounds about right but im in full support he never said he has cracked this software without permission and has basicly said he is offering his ability to test security flaws in TGC product while it is true he may have been best to contact them directly, prehaps he want to see what others thought

Thanks
