Okay, I have two questions then I'll be out of your hair.

1: What program is best (price/ease of use) for making an animation and exporting it as a biped?

2: What is the best (price/ease of use) for making an in-game cutscene.

It's a matter of opinion, I'd say 3ds Max for both questions but that would only be ease of use and not the best price.

You might want to try milkshape, it has some good vertex weighting features.

blender can do all those things, but the exporter can be buggy.

when i used it awile ago, milcshape atomaticly converyed everything to rubbish limb animation wen exported, and it lacks constraints and shape keys, withch make realistic animation of organic moddles imposoble/extremly dificult.

learn blender, you will never regret it.

Yeah, I have milkshape and thats why i stay away from animating with it. I'm looking for a program that is like poser (whereas you just set the keyframe and drag what you want moved) I don't like in ms3d how you have to type in stuff for it to be animated. I also want something that is $250 USD or less.

Poser doesn't export animations that I know of, not if you want it in an FPSC game anyway. Look it up on google, maybe wikipedia will help.

If you push you're budget a little bit you could get gamespace. I heard that's quite a good program, it has all the tools you will need for modelling, animating and exporting anyway.

Gamespace 1.6 all the way! You can drag animations, set vertex weights. Gamespace automatically riggs your chrachter to it's skeleton, and if you start to get more precise later, there is the puppeteer, which can move the joints precise angles.

It's currently at $300, but at christmas it often falls to $250

Tyrano

TATBS 1.8 is now fully functional. Brilodis is having its districts extracted to Battle City. Krina and Karin are twice the size. And you’ll see 5 times as many breeds of monsters... It’s Kalspher V3.

Blender was used to make a commercial film so I'm guessing it can handle animation

Your signature has been erased by a mod because it was rubbish.
