Hi

I just wanted to ask this question because it appears that the black line problem has become worse on my system since upgrading to version 4.1

http://www.geocities.com/avanmadisen/screen.jpg

That should bring up a screen shot that highlights the problem. Originally the black lines were only visible when at extreme angles to the polys. The texture in that shot is 512/512/32, so doubt it's the image dimensions.

What I'm asking is, has anyone else seen this problem, or is it more likely to be my system. I am running directx 9 on a voodoo 5 card, heck the thing isn't even entirely directx 8 compatible, but it does run most things in DBP, so I believe that might be the culprit.

If no one else has this problem, then don't worry, I'll make do until I upgrade. I'd rather ask this and find out I'm alone.

Thanks

Avan

Please take a look to the advices in:

By the way, how are you testing this? Do you use something like:

"set matrix texture 1,0,1
set mipmap mode 2"

?

I'm asking because that's what I use, although I cannot say that I see the results (no mipppaping?)

I'm using a Radeon 9700 pro and I'm still using dx8.1. My prior card was a voodoo 3000. Good card when it went out, but without proper drivers you'll always have doubts about if the fault is yours or not.

Dagh, probably my system anyhow. If I split the texture up on the matrix 32,32 rather then 1,1 it looks great, only the pixels on the texture end up about 6 metre squares. Now I just need DBP to do detail mapping on the matrix.

You're right about the drivers, that's why I passed this question by, just incase someone else had the same or similar problems.

Thanks anyway.
