Thanks

Hey, genius-X-Quad is an all-around game creator. It supports all types of shaders, sizes of textures, and lightmapping. It has more features than FPS Creator, including dynamic shadows and a terrain editing system.

It is also sold by TGC, and was coded by Odyssey.

$66.99

Well, I have tried the demo out, and dindn't care for it. The graphics are not much of high quality, and I don't like the full screen interface of the program. I don't like the price much either. So needless to say, I un-installed it.

Wow, I never knew such a thing existed... may have to check this out. Downloading the demo now... For such a program I'm surprised I haven't read anything in the newsletters about it. When did this come out?

Actually, X-Quad was being developed since the time of the Alienware competition in 2003. And although quite a lot of people don't seem to know about it, there have been quite a lot of forum threads about it.

It's nothing like FPSC and it can be used for any type of game. Its also alot harder to use and is aimed at a different audience

Thanks

Hm. I bought it, and it's definitely aimed at a step up from FPSC.

It was mentioned in a newsletter. Not sure which one though.

It has alot of features and is probably quite a bit up from FPSC, the only things I'm not sure about are save/load (there wasn't one in any of the examples) and weapon animations for reloading ect. in first person. I had a bit of trouble using it because the interface didn't work correctly on my main comp, but I found out later that that was an issue with the comp itself - just haven't tried it since.

People who are more serious about creating a quality product to sell rather than just enjoy some casual game making although some talented users pushed FPSC that step further I don't honestly think it was intented for people to make money off

Thanks

ORPG? Does that stand for Online RPG? Anyway, even though X-Quad can make stand alone games, to get more advanced types of games, you would have to use some DarkBasic with it.

I tried the demo and the demo game and it crashes quite frequently. After my fpsc adventure I'm wise enough not to get into to this.

I'm really starting to wonder if anything relatively bug free can be created with DBPro at all. All the stuff I've seen so far contains numerous bug.

Hey Ben!

I didn't have any bugs with it. Of course, I didn't do any hardcore testing, but the demo game ran fine, although boring, it was bugfree.

I tried out all 3 demo games and ran the editor numerous times and I didn't encounter a bug... I guess you're just unlucky

Question:

Isn't DarkBasic Pro use the same language as Visual Basic? They both involve the BASIC language... Funny, I have DB Pro, and Visual Basic, maybe I should have just bought one! lol
