The winner is chosen by the amount of public/anonymous votes? What kind of a compo is that, besides wouldn't it be sportsman like to say Check out the games here, make sure you test out my game... and please vote for which you think is best

Also why are you posting this in Program Announcements? isn't this your 2nd topic now?

OK. Sorry guys. Please check out all the other games too and if you think I deserve a vote please do vote.

Its just that all the other communities are voting for their entries and I sort of felt like I was losing out. Of course the judges decision is not just based on votes but on the merit of the game also. In fact I think they will be disregarding all negative votes in the final count.

So the bottom line is. Do vote if you like my game.

No, the public's vote is used in conjunction with what the panel of judges thinks about it. The public's opinion makes up about 25% of the final result I think.

Vote Statistics for the 10 finalists in the Best Game on the Go category as of August 28, 2007
----------------

Empyreal Nocturne - 39
Exodus from the Earth - 98
Helicomaster - 21
Hexaxis - 851
Othello3 - 67
Penguins Arena - 1166
SoccerNPool- 56
Synaesthete - 847
Tilt-N-Roll - 179
Zenix 3D - 9

It's nice to see Hexaxis(the other DarkBasic entry, other than mine) at the top of the votes.
SOCCERnPOOL gets 56 votes.
If I could pip "Exodus from Earth" at 98 votes, I would have an outside chance of coming in at the bottom of the prize winners at 5th position.
Please vote!

Exodus from the Earth - 98
SoccerNPool- 69

Is getting 99 votes by the 5th of September an unrealistic expectation. I hope not.

Thanks for the vote dabip. But I didn't make it to the winners list.
Maybe some of you can try in the next compo in 2008. There were 2 DB entries in the finalists this year. Maybe we can get 3 next time
around.

Well congratulations in making a run at it. It was good to see Dark Basic represented in the competition.

Making nothing for the forth straight year.
