Oh, BSP is certainly modern - UT2K3 uses it and, looking at the games, I'd think so do Doom 3 and Halo.

Although, things are changing slightly: UT2K3 for one implements a 'static mesh' system, where levels are built mainly from fast-rendering objects rather than just BSP. These static meshes are one of the reasons it can kick out as many polygons as it does!

Modern!? eh?

BSP's are a relative standard, although there are now so many formats of BSP that they no longer fullfill this description.

As for modern, modern is whatever current games now are using. You will find some use BSP's, and the rest use their own proprietry formats.

So for a real modern format, make your own

Wow. UT2K3 uses it eh? I will have to figure out how to make my own static meshes. Thanks for the help.
Cheers
