Looking good for a rough draft! But the problem is most bows aren't just a bow shaped stick and a piece of wood as an arrow. But if you really spent some time on making the bow bigger, making a better texture and adding some detail to the arrow then I'm sure you'd be able to make it good! GL!

You actually did a better job at the build of the bow, but you counter acted the good you did by making the ARROW bigger. That is no bueno... Make the arrow smaller, and keep the bow the way it is. Then, get a better texture, and you'll be set! Keep at it!

Goosebox,

Greetings. I must agree with Burianu about the arrow.

Overall, it's a good start. As you near completion, you'll need to reposition the weapon more center screen, as it is impossible for the bow to be held by the player's left arm where it currently is, and be operated by the player.

Best of luck in your endeavors.

Thanks,

Seth Black

Put the arrow on the left side of the bow because naturally, the left hand tilts to the right slightly. The arrow would fall off if it's on the right hand side.

@Goosebox, hey man, I just thought of an idea. If you can model and animate and I can texture, why don't we make a little weapons pack. If you want to sell it once its finished, you can have all the profits. If your interested, email me at: davybear@hotmail.com

...no problem.

Wow. Sounds like you've got a virtual arsenal in the works!

If you need any additional help with textures, I'd be willing to lend a hand.

@Goosebox, can you send me the models fpsc with the UV map, so then I can retexture them and test it out. Once I'm finished, I will send the texture maps to you.

Ok I know what you should do. Put the bow to the left and his grip needs to be a little more tighter.

If anyone has Xbox live please add me to you're frinds list.

Goosebox,

...either file format, or both, is fine.

Regarding a texture request on another thread:

Here's a sand texture that you can use. It's from Rolfy's Terrain pack, and it's a good seamless texture.

Thanks,

Seth Black

Well, the texture needs alot of work, and the arrow has no head, infact it looks like a broomstick.

Also, how about giving jon fletcher some credit for the arm and hand. It's evident from the difference in quality that you're using his mesh.

I'm ok. Getting better with every character and tutorial.
here's an example

Quote: "yes, i used the mp5 hands and texture, so i guess ill give him thanks in my readme file for my pack"

I would re-iterate what I said in your showcase thread, that you cannot release these weapons in a pack if you are using the MP5 hands. They are copywrite of Jon Fletcher (or TGC), and you cannot re-distribute them.

look.
if you just want to use them in your own project, then it's totally fine to use the MP5 hands. They're yours, you paid for them.

You just can't use the model pack 5 hands if you want to give/sell these weapons to other people.
