Its been a while since I've taken the time to post some of my work on this form. I've been rather busy. However I am creating a couple of Portfolio pieces at the moment, and I figured I might as well make a progress thread over here on both of them. One only remains texturing, the other is still in highpoly works.

Cartoon-ish character:

This is the one that only has the texture work to do on it.

Fighter Character

Here is my other WIP at the moment, I've been working on him a couple of days now. The face and body isn't finalized.. I just sketched it out in zbrush to use as a base. The main features are there though. I created the concept a few weeks back:

And here is the high poly model in works. I'll be blocking out things today and tomorrow, and then spend a day or so detailing everything out before creating the low poly cage. Hopefully it will turn out rather alright. Now I just have to obtain Jon's texturing skills and I'm all good

Have fun everyone

I like these very much, nice details. Do you animate your models?

Looks very good mate, the texture on the first one makes his look like he's got a cold.

Good stuff Ree.

Is the cartoon character carrying a rocket launcher type, thing on its back?

They look very nice indeed, but heh, we'd expect no less from someone of your calibre...

Frap: I usually rig them and pose them, seldom animate them though.. depends.

SimSmall: Its more of a utility pack. He'll have some tools in there, as well as a sword. He's a pilot of sorts.

Thanks for the comments everyone

here is an update on one of the models:

Looks good. I really like the cartoon chartoon character. As for the fighter, that suit looks really uncomfortable. Anyone who can stand wearing that must be tough.

Are you some kind of 3d model wizard? Do you just tap your finger, and bam, instant beautiful models?

Hey Jonny, I'd say check Gamasutra or gamdev.net, they've got the best listings for professional gaming jobs, and they're reliable sources.

Hopefully I'll be able to give you some work one of these days once I start some bigger projects.

*jizzes*

god damn it Jonny, I can't give a crit here, there's nothing to criticise!

well, maybe the cartoon character's skin looks a bit yellowy, but that's if I'm being picky.

you've reduced me to having to make a "OMGZ UR TEH GREATASTZ MODULLER IN TEH WORLDZ!!!" post.

are you using zbrush or mudbox for the detail?

awesome Jonny. These are awesome the kid would look awesome in cartoon shading. And for the warrior he is awesome my best high poly is a old mans head, but still looks young Blender don't support wrinkle scuplt.
