The gaps in the object could be to do with the poly direction (if your using an .x object) - to test it try
set object cull objectNumber,0.
Are the gaps animated? Perhaps it is distance culling. Try seperating inverse facing polygons or dissabling reverse face culling.
Are you using lightmapping? Try dissabling them they could be conflicting with your scene lighting. Failing that turn off the object/worlds sensitivity to lights.
Are the textures loading in? Check a few of the faulty textures by applying them to a cube.
Is your graphics card fully supported? Try some DBPro downloads compiled under the same patch version as you are using.
